The History of the Williston Police Department Motorcycle Unit
Williston Police Department in 2010 received a 2004 BMW 1150 RTP that was donated by the Alachua County, FL Sheriff’s Office who was making a transition to Harley Davidsons. The motor was received with relatively low mileage (under 30K) and Williston Police Department has three officers trained to ride it. The BMW is taller than a Harley and a little more maneuverable over taller obstacles such as curbs. The bike has given us excellent service for Traffic and Seat Belt Enforcement. This is Williston Police Departments first Motor Unit.
