The History of the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office Motorcycle Unit

Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office only has two of Harley Davidson Road Kings. We ride one in parades and benefit rides and the other is ridden by one of our detectives. We don’t use them for street patrol anymore. We started our motorcycle program in 2004 when we discovered that the Indiana State Police were switching form the Road Kings to the Electra Glides. Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is a small department, 45 men (including brass), we saved some money by staying with the color that they were already painted instead of painting them the tan and brown Sheriff’s colors.
