The History of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Shoulder Patch
This patch is unique, in that it reflects Greenville County’s humble beginnings as a quaint textile village on the banks of the Reedy River. The sun, rising over the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains illustrates the County’s strategic location, and its importance to the economic and industrial development of South Carolina.
We are a full-service, community-oriented agency. Over 370 deputies are responsible for maintaining peace and order in an unincorporated area of 747 square miles.
In 1988, this Office was the first in our State to be accredited by the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.
