The History of the Chesapeake Police Department Motorcycle Unit
The Chesapeake Police Motor Unit was established in 1964 one year after the Chesapeake became a city. As on today, the unit consists of 5 full time riders. Motor Officers patrol the city streets monitoring for traffic violators. All officers assigned to must complete a professional Police motorcycle school and monthly training to keep our Motor unit riding skills sharp.
